I carry out full eye examinations in adults and treat them: I select vision correction, manage patients with cataract, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration, perform laser treatment of the retina, injections and IPL therapy.

Three things I have to explain almost every day. Better to read them before your visit than to learn them afterwards.
Drops relieve the sensation but do not remove the cause. Patients do not know the mechanism by which dry eye develops, so they expect moisture alone to cure it. First we need to understand why the tear film does not hold, and work on exactly that.
Drops do not cure glaucoma, they only slow down the speed at which it progresses. Surgical or laser treatment does not cure this condition either. It helps to extend the time during which the patient can see. That is exactly why the treatment goes on permanently.
Today the restrictions are minimal. The phaco machines used to operate on cataract have changed completely, the procedure has become far less invasive, and the restrictions after surgery have become smaller along with it.
Most often these are people who have started to see worse at a distance or up close. But there are complaints that should not be put off: flashes and cobwebs in front of the eyes can be a sign of retinal pathology.
Very often eye problems are the consequence of something else: rheumatology, endocrinology, hypertension. That is why I go deep into the problem instead of working only with what is visible on the surface.
The aim is not simply to take the complaint away today. The aim is a long remission and, after that, preventing the same symptoms from coming back.

A minute of work with the laser brings back the clear vision the patient already had after the lens was replaced. One of the fastest results in my practice.

A consultation is an examination and a conversation: checking visual acuity, examination with a slit lamp, selecting correction. Extended diagnostics means separate measurements: intraocular pressure, examination of the fundus, assessment of the tear film. They are often done together, but these are two different procedures with different prices.

Apart from diagnostics I perform laser treatment of the retina and of secondary cataract, intravitreal injections for retinal vein occlusion and for wet AMD, IPL therapy for dry eye disease and botulinum toxin injections around the eyes. If you need an intervention that I do not perform, I will say so directly at the consultation.
Yes. I manage patients before and after laser vision correction. At the consultation we assess whether the correction suits you at all, what the alternatives are and what to expect from the result. The surgery itself is performed by a surgeon, while I prepare you for it and follow you up afterwards. This means that my assessment does not depend on whether you agree to it.
The method has contraindications: certain skin types, a recent tan in the treatment area, some skin conditions, active inflammation. This is checked during the eye examination. If IPL is not suitable, there are other options for treating dry eye, and we will discuss them.

I use them with every patient if there are no contraindications. Without a dilated pupil it is impossible to examine the fundus in detail, and that is where the condition of the retina and of the optic nerve can be seen. The drops are different. Some last up to four hours, others up to a day. Which one to use is decided by the doctor depending on the condition the patient has come with. While the drops are working, near vision will be blurred and the eyes more sensitive to light, so plan a day without driving.
Almost everyone asks this. The answer depends on the state of the eye before the intervention and on which operation is planned. That is why I do not make promises from a distance: first the examination, then a specific conversation about the expected result and about the risks.
These are the two most common fears before laser treatment of the retina and of secondary cataract. Before the procedure I explain what exactly will happen and how to hold your gaze. The eye is fixed, and a movement to the side does not cause damage. We discuss every sensation before we start, not during.
This is the most frequent question before intravitreal injections. The fear is understandable and I do not brush it aside. At the consultation we go through how the procedure is done, what the risks are and why in this particular case the benefit outweighs them.
Patients are afraid of drooping eyebrows and of the “marble face” they have seen on Instagram. Results like that come from an excessive dose and from injecting in the wrong areas. That is why the dose and the injection points are chosen individually and not by one scheme for everyone.
From one hour to an hour and a half. This is not a quick look: time is needed for the conversation about your complaints, for the examination and for explaining the result clearly. If pupil-dilating drops have been used, allow extra time while they are working.
